To bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world financial operations, the Commerce Club of Dayanand Public School recently organized an educational visit to the JRG Bank, Bistupur Branch.
The initiative aimed to enhance students’ financial literacy by providing first-hand exposure to banking rules, regulations, and daily operational activities, reinforcing key concepts from Accountancy and Economics.
During the visit, students toured the branch and interacted directly with bank officials, gaining practical insights into the role banking institutions play within the broader economic system. The interactive session allowed students to observe professional banking workflows, ask targeted questions, and clarify concepts regarding modern financial services.
Key Highlights and Takeaways from the Visit were:
• Core Banking Operations: Practical understanding of account opening, maintenance, deposit protocols, and withdrawal procedures.
• Financial Transactions: Insights into cheque processing, fund transfer mechanisms, and essential documentation.
• Compliance & Security: Familiarization with Know Your Customer (KYC) norms, regulatory frameworks, and responsible financial practices.
• Digital Banking: Education on modern digital banking tools and protocols for maintaining transaction safety.
The visit proved to be an enriching and informative experience. Students developed a clearer understanding of banking operations and were able to relate their academic learning to real-life financial practices. The exposure also strengthened their awareness of financial discipline, digital banking, customer responsibility and possible career opportunities in the banking and financial services sector.
